The Night After the Eleventh

So, now I’m on a roll with this whole blogging thing, two posts in the last few days, wow!  I just wanted to put this out there.  Last night I was fortunate enough to get tickets ( by waiting in line all day) to see the NY Public Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.  Among others, the show starred Anne Hathaway, of Princess Diaries fame, Tony winner Raul Esparza and 4 time Tony winner Audra McDonald.

The show was incredible. The acting was superb by all parties and the humor, which I find is often hard to translate in Shakespeare, came across extremely well! The set and costumes only further enhanced the production, which kept the audience of just under 1,900 in rapture throughout 3 hours; a feat for any cast.

Did I mention yet that the tickets are free? I recommend anyone that will be in the city this summer and has a free day to sit around for tickets do so. It was, for me, an unforgettable night!

A Golden Moment

So, I haven’t been blogging in a while, since I’ve been in NYC, (see my Twitter lexandthecity09) but I have found a really good reason to blog. Yesterday,  I went to  Serendipity 3, a really delicious and magical restuarant on 60th street, for the second time, and something extra magical happened.  I saw THE GOLDEN OPULENCE!!!  NOw, for those of you that don’t know, this might not sound that cool, but trust me, it is.  This sundae costs $1,000 making it the world’s most expensive sundae! It requires a reservation 48 hours in advance and contains lots of edible gold.  Let me tell you, it was a life changing experience.  The Golden Opulence
